In December, with any luck, I will have a 2nd edition of both Hidden Fire and Fire Betrayed available, ahead of publishing the third FIRE novel, Fire Awakened, in the new year. I know it’s been a while but I’m feeling more up to writing and stuff. I got the new Prologue written for Fire Betrayed this afternoon and some corrections made to the text.
Anyway, I have three of each of the first edition left from my author’s copies. Normally I sell them for £8 each but to clear stock, as it were, if you buy Hidden Fire I’ll send you Fire Betrayed for free. £8 + postage.
Email me if you want a signed copy. I take paypal payments.
This is it, the cover for Bridas’ Justice. I decided to have a go at using the cover creator function in Create Space for this one. Mainly because I can’t afford to employ Michelle, my cover designer for the FIRE novels. All the planned Tales From Erce will have a white and blue cover with a relevant cover image. I’ve gone for waves on rocks with this one. You’ll see why if you read the story.
In a follow up to my previous post about Erce, I thought I’d take you to visit Albon for a tour. Albon is the home of my main character, Lizzy Albon. I present a leaflet from Erce’s Premier Travel Agency: The Traveller’s Union of Camar and Bemose.
In the past it wasn’t unusual for books to be published by subscription, where an author would solicit funds to pay for the publication of their book, in return the subscribers would receive a copy of the book and their name in the book. A list of subscribers was included. This idea has modernised, with sites like Patreon and Go Fund Me helping creatives raise funds to produce their work.
Timothy Bateson is a sci-fi and fantasy author originally from the UK but now transplanted to the US. He’s hosting an ‘Author Spotlight’ post about me today. To coincide with this event I’ve put Hidden Fire on sale for 99p for the Kindle book. If you haven’t read it already take a peek today while it’s half price.
Today’s the day! Hidden Fire is now available as a Kindle ebook and a paperback book from Amazon. From mid-September the ebook should be available in other formats and from other distributors too, with the help of Smashwords.
The launch at the library was good. I arrived early and the library assistant helped me get set up. My cousin Dominic is a photographer and he’s taken some photos of today’s event. His photography has won competitions, and he sometimes helps make films too. Check out his Facebook page DJC Photography.
I took ten books with me to the library, some had already been spoken for, like the three the library ordered, and the ones for my mum and grandmother. Of the five left, I actually sold three of them to people who weren’t friends and family. A cousin and a friend from my allotment days bought the other two.
I’m very happy that it went so well and that the books are now available in the library for borrowers. I checked my sales, there were the 5 pre-orders that have been there since I announced the cook was on pre-order, and an unexpected sale from the US. Thanks to whoever that was, I hope you enjoy it.
Today is also my 34th birthday, I am having a wonderful day. It is the first time in weeks that I haven’t felt awful. I’m tired and peopled out, so the next few days will involve nothing much more than napping and reading.
